Recyled Leather Handbags by Ashley Watson
 Once you're initiated with some designers, you discover there's no going back. Suddenly, filling your closet with their designs seems ridiculously important. Of course, that's normal infatuation-speak.
But when the object of your affections is worth a little extra amore, filling the closet makes a little more sense – at least that's what I'm telling myself as I fall madly into the world of Ashley Watson's gorgeous handbags.
Constructed entirely of recycled leather jackets sourced from charity thrift shops, the bags are one-of-a-kind works of art designed with flashes of brilliance. You might spot a jacket pocket, for example, or a belt loop or two.
Even the colors go beyond basic black and brown. Watson studiously finds everything from burgundy to forest green, fashioning them into bags that fit seamlessly into any wardrobe. I'm wild about the Plover ($375), an everyday bag that slings on easily, holds everything and looks just right whether at the office or walking around town.
